So what is happening with that series you started?

Basically, it is in a stasis chamber. 

I have the first book ready to self publish after my second publisher closed for business. The sequel is ready to go as well. 

But I am anxious to commit to the process. I have many good people giving me a lot of good advice. It all boils down to 'move on' which is wise and healthy, but impossible.

I can't just spend a decade writing something and then abandon it. So instead, the plan is to move on, but only for a while, then come back with a renewed sense of purpose having published other work.

Which is what I'm working on doing now.
